Over the past few weeks, the IBSF has been working with the Beijing 2022 Organising Committee on the preparations for this seasons International Training Period (ITP) and BMW IBSF Bobsleigh and Skeleton World Cup events.

The International Training Period, to be held at the YanQing Olympic Sliding Center from 25 February, 2021 - 7 March, followed immediately by the BMW IBSF World Cup events. However, with significant challenges facing athletes, federations and organisers caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, all parties have agreed to the following changes to the existing schedule: 

1. The International Training Period will now be held from 5 October until 2 November, 2021.
   

2. The International Training Period will be split into two periods, starting with the Bobsleigh ITP followed by the Skeleton ITP.
   

3. At the conclusion of each International Training Period, the IBSF will conduct a sanctioned race for each discipline.
   

Also, the BMW IBSF World Cup originally scheduled for March 2021, will not be held as planned in October 2021. However, a replacement World Cup for March 2021 will be announced in the coming days.
